Some wedding days simply feel easy in the best possible way, and Megan and Kyle's September 20th wedding at Centerville Estates was exactly that. With perfect September weather, blue skies, and the first signs of fall beginning to appear, every part of the day felt relaxed from the very beginning. After years together, Megan and Kyle weren't just celebrating a wedding—they were celebrating a love that had already stood the test of time.

One of my favorite moments happened while we were waiting for Megan's first look with her dad. He couldn't stop talking about how excited he was that this day had finally arrived. You could hear the pride and joy in his voice as he shared how happy he was to officially welcome him into the family. It was such a genuine moment before the emotions of the day really began.

Megan shared a sweet first look with her dad. Those quiet moments with the people who have loved you your whole life are always some of my favorites to photograph.

The ceremony itself was filled with laughter, and as the day went on, the stories shared by family and friends during the reception painted an even clearer picture of Megan and Kyle's relationship. Every toast pointed back to the same thing—their friendship, the way they care for one another, and how naturally they fit together. By the end of the speeches, it was obvious to everyone in the room that these two were simply made for each other.

Centerville Estates was especially beautiful that time of year. Salmon were making their way upstream through the creek, creating a uniquely Northern California backdrop, while a few curious deer wandered through during portraits and even managed to photo bomb a few images. Sometimes nature gives you the best surprises.

Their wedding party kept the energy high all day long, making portraits an absolute blast. That fun carried right into the reception, where the dance floor was packed from the very first songs until the end of the night. It was one of those celebrations where guests of every age stayed out on the dance floor together, laughing, singing, and making the most of every minute. Watching everyone celebrate Megan and Kyle was just as much fun as photographing it.

This wedding will always hold a special place in my heart for another reason, too. I was almost 38 weeks pregnant when we photographed it, so we invited a third photographer to join us for the day. Having the extra help meant I could step back for a few moments during the reception and simply enjoy watching everyone celebrate together. My goal was to deliver Megan and Kyle's gallery before our baby arrived—and I finished editing their wedding the night before she was born. Looking back now, it feels like the perfect ending to such a joyful wedding weekend.
